Georgia firmly adheres to the position that flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation will be operated only by those airlines and aircraft that are not subject to sanctions. Accordingly, all applications submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency, as well as information and documentation submitted by airlines will be subject to detailed study and verification in terms of various sanctions mechanisms.
Along with that, the Civil Aviation Agency consults with and studies the experience of countries that adhere to sanctions, but at the same time have direct air traffic with the Russian Federation.
We inform you that to date, the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency has received applications from several airlines for regular flights between Georgia and Russia.
We emphasize that for each application submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency, a decision will be made after a detailed study of the current status of airlines and their aircraft in terms of international sanctions or restrictions, and flight permits will be issued in accordance with the above-mentioned principle.
