Statement of Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA)
Any air operations at Sokhumi Airport without prior approval by GCAA is prohibited. No airline is allowed to operate to Sokhumi Airport unless decision is made by Georgian Civil Aviation Agency and safety oversight is carried out by Georgian Authorities.

In order to ensure the safety of passengers and aircraft operations, the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia (GCAA) has temporarily prohibited all Boeing 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX operations in the Georgian airspace. The decision is effective from 09:00 UTC, March 13.2019.
