Number of Passengers served at Georgian Airports Increased by 25.63% in 2016

The number of passengers served at Georgian Airports is again on the rise. According to the 2016 statistics, provided by GCAA, passenger traffic at Georgian Airports amounted to 2 840 455 people, which is 25.63% more (579 444 passengers) than in 2015.

China Southern Airlines has launched scheduled flights from Beijing to Tbilisi

The first flight has landed at Tbilisi International Airport on September 23 at 21:45 hrs. The air company will connect two capital cities with 2 flights per week - every Tuesday and Friday. The Urumqi-Beijing-Tbilisi service will be operated with Boeing 737-800.

Negotiations have held between the Civil aviation authorities of Georgia and Turkmenistan on the establishing of regular flights between the two countries. The meeting held in Ashkhabad on July 4, 2016 aimed to discuss the perspectives of starting direct flights between the two countries.

By the invitation of the hosting party the enlarged meeting was also attended by the leading Chinese airlines such as “Air China”, “Hainan Airlines”, “China Southern Airlines” and “China Eastern Airlines”.
